inRESPONSE researcher Ana Juncos published article in the Journal of Comparative European Politics in April 2025 titled “A pragmatist theory of power: understanding the EU’s transformation and security response to Russia’s war in Ukraine”.
The research was done in the context of the inRESPONSE project and explores the EU’s security response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine including by focusing “on the cases of the delivery of lethal weapons and the deployment of the EU Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine”. It argues the EU must gain the capacity to innovate due to the seriousness of rising challenges which begs a process of transformation of its “security identity”.
