inRESPONSE researchers Elisabeth Johansson-Nogués, Aitor Bonsoms and Francesca Leso presented their work at the panel A changing European multilateral security order? Institutional responses in a contested post-liberal landscape.
The panel dealt with both with the factors that lead up to the malfunction of the liberal European security order to make inter-state war in 2022 possible, as well as what lies ahead for the security order and its institutions.
E. Johansson-Nogués (IBEI) and Anna-Sophie Maass (University of Lancaster) presented the paper “The unravelling of the European security architecture? Miscommunication, distrust and desocialization among partners”.
Aitor Bonsoms gave his view on the “Present and future of OSCE’s peace operations. A reconfiguration of OSCE’s peacekeeping operations in the shadow of the contested liberal landscape?”.
Finally, Francesca Leso provided an overview of “The war in Ukraine and the European security order. A view from Europe’s eastern borderland”.
